On May 17 in Tetovo, the National Round of the Economics Olympiad brought together 70+ students from 30 high schools across 16 cities — a celebration of knowledge, competition, and youth ambition.

After two intense parts, the Top 5 were selected to represent North Macedonia this August in Ancient Olympia, Greece at the International Economics Olympiad:

1.      Stefan Mladenovski – "Josif Josifovski" High School, Gevgelija

2.      Angela Trpeska – “Vasil Antevski – Dren” High School, Skopje

3.      Dren Haliti – "Nikolla Shtejn" High School, Tetovo

4.      Jasir Mustafa – “8 Shtatori” High School, Skopje

5.      Anastasija Shikoska – Yahya Kemal College, Struga

All five will receive stipends for the 2025/26 academic year, and SEEU will award:

·      100% scholarship to the top-ranked student

·      70% to second place

·      50% to third place

— for studies at the Faculty of Business and Economics.

The Economics Olympiad in North Macedonia is organized by the Liberal Alternative Institute and Economics Fundamentals Initiative, with the generous support of South East European University.

This year, participation soared to 2,600+ students from 52 schools — proof that economic education is gaining momentum in North Macedonia!
